Honeywell was preparing to reclaim vacant and contaminated land
in Jersey City that it had acquired. The corporation wanted to
demonstrate to the City of Jersey City's administration,
and to the residents and businesses in the area that it was
a good neighbor, and would remediate the land so it would
be habitable and productive. The administration of the City of Jersey City had not reached
out to Honeywell to discuss the matter of the land Honeywell
was reclaiming, and sought a way to connect with Honeywell.
Honeywell was also looking for a way to demonstrate to the
City that they wished to proceed as good neighbors as they
remediated the contaminated property and made it habitable
and productive for the residents and businesses of Jersey City.Jones & Associates Communications was engaged to assist
Honeywell in their efforts to establish a connection with the
City and especially with the people living in proximity to the
property. We aided Honeywell in its outreach efforts and in
building awareness of how they would proceed with the
remediation as well as how the entire project would ultimately
benefit the community. Our firm developed and held a series of meetings within
the communities surrounding the land. At these meetings,
members of Honeywell’s team – along with City government
and community leaders – explained the remediation processes
and communicated how the endeavor would benefit the community.
